I consider myself a programmer… yeah, I do.. pretty much. Yet, I don’t have much by way of “advice” to offer, here. I mean, its really all a matter of personal opinion, isn’t it?
Yeah, it might be kinda cool to have a whole lotta stuff workable right from the browser space. But, then that makes ME think about security issues. If everything is in the browser, then all they (they = hacker) gotta do is hack he ONE application; (the browser); right?

Competition is always good, but especially these days with browsers. Features are being added to them that may, in a year or two, make a browser-based application look and feel no different from a desktop one. Imagine having the equivalent of Photoshop or PowerPoint in your browser–and thus available on whatever machine you happen to be using, desktop or smart phone or laptop.
Personally, I feel safety in diversity. Call me old fashioned, but I’d rather a thief have to actually figure out where I keep different things rather than giving them a road map.
Wha’chu think?
